Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
One of the most popular movie monsters from the Eighties and Nineties is Wes Craven and Robert Englund’s Freddy Krueger from the original A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). In 2010, Samuel Bayer directed a remake of the slasher classic starring Jackie Earle Haley as a new version of Freddy Krueger. Released on April 30th by Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes with a budget of $35 Million, the feature grossed over $115 million but met with mixed reviews. Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer fashioned the script and Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy and Thomas Dekker rounded out the cast. The updated make up for Krueger went further in resembling a burn victim with the custom maintaining the classic green and red striped sweater and Haley made a frightening version of the scarred killer. “Why are you screaming, I haven’t even cut you yet.”
