Trailer: The Ward (2011)

John (Halloween, The Thing) Carpenter directs his first motion picture in 9 years with The Ward starring Amber Heard.

Synopsis:
John Carpenter's The Ward, a psychological thriller about a young woman locked in a mysterious mental institution in the 1960s, marks iconic horror master John Carpenter's first feature film in over seven years.

Kristen (Amber Heard), a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a psychiatric hospital. She is completely disoriented, with no idea why she was brought to this place and no memory of her life before being admitted. All she knows is that she isn't safe.

The other patients in the ward—four equally disturbed young women—offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone.

One-by-one, the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.

Rare Exports (2010)

Opening December 3rd, 2010 in New York and December 10th, 2010 in LA is a Finnish import called Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale which tells a twisted version of the legend of Santa Claus. The film is directed by Jalmari Helander and stars Onni Tommila, Jorma Tommila, Ilmari Jarvenpaa and Per Christian Ellefsen.

Synopsis from Oscilloscope.Net

It's the eve of Christmas in northern Finland, and an 'archeological' dig has just unearthed the real Santa Claus. But this particular Santa isn't the one you want coming to town. When the local children begin mysteriously disappearing, young Pietari and his father Rauno, a reindeer hunter by trade, capture the mythological being and attempt to sell Santa to the misguided leader of the multinational corporation sponsoring the dig. Santa's elves, however, will stop at nothing to free their fearless leader from captivity. What ensues is a wildly humorous nightmare – a fantastically bizarre polemic on modern day morality.

RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE is a re-imagining of the most classic of all childhood fantasies, and is a darkly comic gem soon to be required perennial holiday viewing.

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D (2010) Trailer 2

Here's hoping the upcoming horror-scifi-action flick Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D is as big a riot as the trailers have been promising. I'm game for seeing Mila Jovovich running around in 3D; in fact, the more the merrier. Add in Ali Larter and a Silent-Hill-influenced monster with a huge anvil-axe of some sort and sign me up. This has guilty pleasure written all over it. It can't possibly be "good" but it certainly will be "fun"!

Kenta Fukasaku's Black Rat (2010)

Kenta "Battle Royale 2" Fukasaku directed oddball horror film. Set in a high school, a killer in a Black Rat mask offs fellow schoolmates.

This one looks wachadoodle, kids. A killer in a giant black rat mask - LOL. This looks like it could be a goofy treat, or a disaster, you pick.
